Beekeeping is permitted on residential lots of 5,000 square feet or more subject to the following: no more than four hives per lot, hives shall be located in the rear yard at least 10 feet from any property line, a water source shall be maintained within 15 feet of the hives, and a flyway barrier at least six feet high shall be installed along any property line within 20 feet of a hive. Registration with the Ohio Department of Agriculture is required.
