Chapter 1109: Floodplain Overlay

The Floodplain Overlay District encompasses all areas within the 100-year floodplain of the Muskingum and Licking Rivers as shown on the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps. No new construction or substantial improvement shall be permitted unless the lowest floor is elevated at least two feet above the base flood elevation. Manufactured homes in the floodplain shall be anchored to a permanent foundation. Floodway encroachments that would result in any increase in flood levels are prohibited.
